We offer several options to make your visit as comfortable as possible. One such option is oral sedation. The patient is given oral medication before the appointment to relax them making the procedure less stressful. This works well for many procedures.

For patients with a higher level of anxiety, IV sedation is a great and safe option. A small needle (IV) is inserted into a vein in the arm and sedative drugs are administered to induce sleep. The drugs act quickly allowing the patient to have the procedure completed and recover quickly (usually within 20-30 minutes). The patient can then be discharged with a responsible adult. Patients who opt for IV sedation must not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before the appointment.

Both sedation options require an escort. Also patients are not allowed to drive the day of the procedure.
